A popular bistro serving hearty and heavy meat and fish dishes with glass-topped tables and reasonably priced good wines. You won't go away hungry. No reservations please. Wait in the bar or outside for your table. No smoking in the main dining room. Outdoor dining is nice. Good wait staff. Valet parking.

Tables are turned fairly quickly. This is not the place for a long, romantic dinner. It's a bistro after all.

Before you order desserts, ask your wait person which desserts are made in-house, locally, or some place else. We find local desserts are almost always best. We understand that on Monday, Mr. Friendly's serves homemade moon pies. With RC Cola? We haven't been there to check this out. The original Mr. Friendly's was a sandwich maker and baker of freshly-made big cookies in what was the Bazaar on Harden Street (now The Firm).

Mr. Friendly's is one of only two restaurants in South Carolina to win Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s Award for “America’s Best Wine-Driven Restaurants”. The other restaurant is 82 Queen in Charleston. Restaurants apply for this award by completing a questionnaire.

Lunch Monday through Friday 11:30 to 2:30. Dinner Monday through Saturday 5:30-10.
